What is a Recollection?
A monthly Recollection is a time set aside specifically for a Christian to go deeper into her relationship with God.
Although we might spend time in prayer each day, recollection is a time to withdraw a couple of hours from the noise and cares of this life in order to spend some quality time in conversation with God guided by meditation, spiritual reading, and time to avail of the Sacrament of Confession.
Each one of us has a Guardian Angel, protecting and guiding us throughout our lives.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church proclaims that "from infancy to death human life is surrounded by their [angels'] watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God" (CCC, n. 336). Leading up to the Feast day of the Guardian Angels on October 2, we invite you to deepen in this reality. We are not alone.
"Have confidence in your guardian angel. Treat him as a very dear friend – that’s what he is – and he will do a thousand services for you in the ordinary affairs of each day.” - St Josemaria
