This is a weekend Crash Course on the Catholic Faith for young women aged 18-35 years who want to deepen in knowledge and understanding of their faith.

  • Whether you are a beginner or you already know a lot, by the end of this course you will be wiser, happier and you’ll also have a stronger sense of meaning in your life.

  • For those who wish, there will be the opportunity for prayer and the option to avail of sacraments - Mass and the Sacrament of Confession. 

  • This course can be done either residential or non-residential (attending by days).

  • The content will be delivered and learned through formal classes, case studies, interactive discussions, videos as well as presentations.

  • We will also be organising outings and fun activities

This course will be from Friday, May 31 to Monday, June 3 (over the June Bank Holiday weekend).

 

SCHEDULE

Friday Evening

  • 6.30pm Pizza & beer - Icebreakers

  • 8.00pm Introduction to the weekend: Why Catholic and not just Christian?

SaturdaY

  • 8.30am - Guided prayer: God created us to discover Him 

  • 11.00am - Session 1 | God’s creation: Man and Woman (Fr Donncha Ó hAodha)

  • OUTING

  • 5.00pm - Session 2 | Unconditionally loved - A biblical perspective (Catherine Dean PhD Education, M Theology)

Sunday

  • 9am - Guided prayer: The kindness of Christ - a personal encounter (Fr Donncha Ó hAodha)

  • 9.30am - Mass

  • 11am - Session 1: How do we think today and why (2 parts) (Catherine Kavanagh, PhD Notre Dame)

    • The Reformation in Europe

    • My own reality? 

  • 6.00pm - BBQ

  • 8.00pm - Session 2: Apostolic mission - engaging with the world (Kathleen Pacious PhD MEd)

Monday

  • 9.30am - Guided prayer : The Sacraments - God reaches out to us (Fr Donncha Ó hAodha)

  • 12.00pm - Final Session: The vocation to marriage (Maria Reisz BA Political Science, MA Spanish and Linguistics)

  • 1.30pm - Lunch

 

Price

You can attend for the whole weekend or on specific days.

Residential (includes accommodation in a single bedroom and meals):
Full residential: €80 (Per day: €20)

Non-residential (includes meals):
All days: €40 (Per day: €10)
